Effect of metal and potent inhibitor concentrations on the activity of purified EstC.

aAll compounds were diluted in 50 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.5. An aliquot of the enzyme was incubated for 1 hour at 25°C with the buffer containing 1 or 10 mM of the compound. Values are expressed relative to a control without compound incubated in the same conditions.bResidual activity was measured using pNP-C5 as substrate at a temperature of 35°C. The pre-incubated enzyme was diluted 10-fold before being used in standard assays. Residual activity was expressed relative to the activity measured with the control.
