Storr''s Lake is a turbid, hypersaline lake located in the eastern shore of San Salvador Island, The Bahamas. The lake harbors lithified, organo-sedimentary structures called ''microbialites''. Microbial mats associated with these microbialites and gelatinous mats found on the surface of the deeper lake sediments were collected. The bacterial diversity in these mats were analyzed by sequencing the partial 16S rRNA gene (V1-V3 region) by using 454 GS-FLX Titanium chemistry. The raw, unfiltered sequences are submitted here. Five different microbial mats collected from the hypersaline environment of Storr''s Lake, San Salvador Island, The Bahamas.
