Number of LNG refueling stations in Europe by country 2024

Germany is the European country with the largest number of LNG refueling stations. As of March 2024, there were 186 operational, proposed, and currently constructed LNG fuel stations across the country. Liquefied natural gas sales for heavy good vehicles (HGVs) has been growing, due to its various benefits when compared to diesel combustion vehicles. LNG-fueled vehicles can cover longer distances, and generate less noise, making it attractive for deliveries in residential areas as well as long hauls.
