The purpose of this data layer is to provide the location of weather
stations where precipitation was collected, along with precipitation
totals by month and annually for 30 years (1970-2000). This information
can be used in a variety of ways, including the creation of surface
contours by means of different algorithms to display levels of
precipitation in Wyoming.
This dataset contains 4222 point locations corresponding to 136 weather
station locations in or bordering Wyoming. Each of the 136 weather
stations includes 31 points, with the same latitude longitude, but
representing a different year (1970-2000). Each point contains attributes
for total precipitation in inches for each month, as well as
an annual precipitation for the year.
The data was obtained from the Western Regional Climatic data website,
