Business expectations of sales in Canada 2021, by employment size

As of the first quarter of 2021, some 42 percent of companies in Canada expected their sales to stay about the same. The impact of the coronavirus has been larger on smaller companies. Businesses with one to 19 employees were more likely to experience a loss in sales over the next three months. On the contrary, companies with 100 or more employees represented the largest share of businesses which expected an increase in sales in the near future.
