Data provided by Gerland Climate Station

In 2005, the Parc du Vercors launched a program called "climate observatory".
This programme started, on the territory of the Hauts Plateaux National Reserve, with the installation of three weather stations (one in the north on the edge of the Darbounouse plain, another in the centre of Gerland and the third in the south at the Jardin du Roi) and three recorders (temperature, humidity and rainfall) on the territory of the Vercors RBI.
A framework agreement has been signed with UJF (University of Grenoble) to set up research partnerships on climate change and its consequences on the environment (biodiversity, hydrology, etc.). The LTHE (Laboratory for the Study of Transfers in Hydrology and Environment, now IGE) had a mission to monitor and exploit this data.

This Campbell Scientific CR23X station incorporates sensors to measure the following variables:

- Air temperature
- relative humidity of the air
- amount of rain (weighing rain gauge type GEONOR)
- wind speed
- wind direction
- battery voltage
- Incident and reflected solar radiation
- snow depth
- soil temperature at -5, -15 and -30cm depth
