Coal production by type Spain 2011-2019

The production of anthracite, bituminous coal, and black lignite decreased considerably in Spain between 2011 and 2018. In 2018, it had been reduced to approximately 2.4 million metric tons. All Spanish coal mines closed on January 1, 2019.
