Gambierdiscus excentricus denovo transcriptomic sequencing project

Species of the genus Gambierdiscus produce toxins such as ciguatoxins and maitotoxins which causes ciguatera fish poisoning. Gambierdiscus excentricus is a potent producer of Ciguatoxins which cause ciguatera fish poisoning in humans. To date, there has been no gene expression data available on this species. This transcriptome sequencing project was aimed at identifying genes involved in toxin biosynthesis.
