WGS of selected suppressors of Arabidopsis thaliana superroot2 mutation

Aiming to identifying Arabidopsis thaliana mutants specifically impaired in adventitious root formation on etiolated hypocotyls, we conducted a screen on EMS mutagenized homozygous superroot2-1glabra1 (sur2-1gl1) seeds, and isolated a number of suppressor mutants. To identify the causal mutations in the selected suppressors, we combined the advantages offered by both NGS and classical mapping, to rapidly identify the point mutations and to restrict the number of testable candidates by defining the chromosomal intervals containing the causal mutations, respectively.
