资源简介:
The database include ANKK1:NM 178510.2:c.2137G>A (rs1800497) polymorphism data of sixty elite athletes (31 sprint/power and 29 endurance) and controls. The present study aims to decipher any possible differences of the ANKK1:NM 178510.2:c.2137G>A (rs1800497) polymorphism with the athletic performances/ personal best (PB) and sports experience of elite athletes. Sixty elite athletes (31 sprint/power and 29 endurance) and 20 control/sedentary with the ages of 18-35 voluntarily participated in the study. The PBs of the athletes were determined according to The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) score. Whole exome sequencing (WES) was performed using the genomic DNA isolated from blood of the participants The association between rs1800497 polymorphism and competitive performance and sports experience was examined by one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) with the adjustment of age. Chi-square analysis was applied to test the fit the difference between categorical variables. Despite observing a higher frequency of the G allele compared to the A allele in both groups, there were no significant differences in genotype distribution (p=0.461) or allele distribution (p=0.540) between the groups. Furthermore, no significant associations were found between the rs1800497 polymorphism and competitive performance. It is worth noting that individuals with the G>G genotype exhibited higher PB scores compared to those with the G>A genotype, although this difference did not reach statistical significance (t=1.547, p=0.127, standardized effect size: 0.42, moderate effect). Interestingly, the rs1800496 polymorphism showed a statistically significant association with sports experience (t=2.555, p=0.013, standardized effect size: 0.72, moderate effect). Upon comprehensive evaluation of the existing literature and our own findings, it can be suggested that individuals with the G>G genotype may exhibit higher sports experience and athletic performance. Conversely, the A/A genotype may potentially indicate a higher susceptibility to exercise addiction. However, it is important to note that further studies are required to elucidate the precise mechanisms that underlie the association between this genotype and sports experience or athletic performance
