Gonad transcriptome analysis of QN Orange scallop revealing candidate genes for sex differentiation and gonad development

In this study, ovary and testis at different stage were analyzed using RNA-Seq. Eight databases were used for gene annotation. According to the annotation, 83 genes related to sex differentiation (3 SRY, 7 Sox, 15 WNT, 5 DMRT, 3 FOXL, 34 GATA, 3 GDF and 13 BMP family genes) and 21 genes related to gonad development (5 VTG, 2 ER, 4 GnRHR family genes) were found.
