资源简介:
We are developing innovative and sustainable technologies for hydrogen production and storage. A key research task is to understand the fundamentals of ultrasound-assisted synthesis of metal hydride for efficient hydrogen storage. We will study the highly dynamic and transient interactions between cavitation bubbles and MgH2 (microparticles) which is a solid-state hydrogen storage material that has huge potential in solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation applications. We will use the ultrahigh X-ray imaging capabilities at ID19 to capture in operando the interactions of ultrasonic bubbles and MgH2 microparticles under different ultrasound conditions and different liquid media. The in-situ collected imaging data will help us to reveal the highly dynamic and multiscale particle fragmentation mechanisms in the MgH2 refinement and desorption process, providing indispensable and systematic data for us to optimize the ultrasound-assisted Hydrogen absorption and desorption processes.
