Effects of elemene emulsion injection on rat fecal microbiota and metabolites: Based on 16S rRNA exploration and GC-MS

Objective To investigate the effects of elemene emulsion injection on the fecal microbiota and metabolites in Sprague Dawley (SD) rats. Methods A total of 8 male SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups (4 in each group) control group (group C) and elemene emulsion injection group (group L). Group L was intraperitoneally injected with elemene emulsion for 14 consecutive days, and group C was intraperitoneally injected with the same volume of normal saline. The feces of each animal were then collected on day 14 post-dose for 16S rRNA gene amplification and sequencing, as well as fecal metabolomic analysis.
