Stress-specific antibiotic resistance mutations in Bacillus subtilis

This study aims to determine the spectrum of antibiotic resistance mutations caused by exposure to bacterial stressors. We aim to link various genotoxic agents to specific patterns of mutation by exposing Bacillus subtilis to various stressors and sequencing the mutagenized isolates. This work allows us to understand how bacterial stress can lead to antibiotic resistance through specific forms of mutagenesis.
