qRT-PCR data regarding differences in gene expression when comparing CEE treated animals with controls and E2 treated animals with controls. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to measure transcript levels of the following selected markers: Genes associated with cell proliferation (<i>MKI67</i> (marker of proliferation Ki67), estrogen receptor activity (<i>ESR1</i> (estrogen receptor 1), <i>ESR2</i> (estrogen receptor 2), <i>PGR</i> (progesterone receptor), <i>TFF1</i> (trefoil factor 1), <i>GREB1</i> (gene regulated by estrogen in BC-1)), apoptosis (<i>BCL-2</i> (B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2)) and estrogen metabolism (<i>CYP19A1</i> (cytrochrome P450, family 19, subfamily A, polypeptide), <i>HSD17B1</i> (hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 1), <i>HSD17B2</i> (hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 2), <i>STS</i> (steroid sulfatase, isozyme S), <i>SULT1E1</i> (Sulfotransferase family 1E, estrogen-preferring, member 1)).
