Die Fallstudie stellt eine musiktherapeutische Gruppe mit vier 14jährigen Schülern einer Förderschule für geistig behinderte Kinder und Jugendliche vor. Sie zeigt, wie in den musikalischen Produktionen Ohnmachts- und Allmachtsphantasien zum Ausdruck gebracht und wie durch musikalische Formgebung positive Entwicklungen angestoßen werden. Es wird nachvollziehbar, wie im musikalisch-spielerischen Erkunden des Spielraums und durch probeweises Überschreiten von inneren und äußeren Grenzen neue Erfahrungen gemacht und Isolation überwunden werden kann. Die Beschreibung einer Gruppenimprovisation und die vier Behandlungsschritte der morphologischen Musiktherapie helfen den Behandlungsauftrag zu verstehen und zusammen mit der märchenhaften Geschichte „Wo die wilden Kerle wohnen“ den Behandlungsverlauf zu strukturieren. This case study presents a music therapy group with four 14-year-old students, attending a special education school for children and adolescents with mental disabilities. It demonstrates the use of musical productions to express fantasies of impotence and omnipotence and how positive developmental growth can be initiated through the shaping potential of music. Understanding is attained as to how new experiences are gained and isolation overcome through the exploration of scope, both in music and play, and by tentatively pushing the limits of internal and external boundaries. Group improvisation and the four treatment steps of morphological music therapy are described and assist in understanding the treatment contract which, together with the fantasy story, “Where the Wild Things Are”, lend structure to the treatment process. peerReviewed publishedVersion
