2018 - 2022 YFT and BLFT Catch and Eye Lens Isotope Data
收藏资源简介:
This data was compiled following an analysis of carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes within yellowfin (YFT) and blackfin (BLFT) tuna eye lenses. The purpose of the stable isotope analysis was to investigate trophic position and movement patterns of these fishes around oil platforms in the northern Gulf. Sixty-eight tuna were collected via rod and reel in February 2020 around the Perdido and Nansen oil platforms, seven were collected via pelagic longline in August 2018 in the northern Gulf, and two were collected while trawling in the Northern Gulf in May 2022. The dataset contains catch data (including location, time, and biometric information), as well as raw carbon and nitrogen stable isotope data. For each fish, eye lenses were separated into individual laminae and run through an Elemental Analyzer-Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer in duplicate to measure δ13C and δ15N.
