Data for: A Longitudinal Study of Multidimensional Poverty in Rural China from 2010 to 2018

In our analysis, we use the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) datasets for years of 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. CFPS is a nationally representative, longitudinal survey of Chinese communities, families and individuals funded by the Chinese government through Peking University in 2010. The studies in CFPS convey a wealth of information which focuses on the economic as well as the non-economic characteristics of the Chinese population. Therefore, the samples of CFPS are conductive to the measurement and analysis of the multidimensional poverty. Specifically, our sample selection process is as follows: (1) We exclude households in the urban region to focus on the poverty in rural region of China; (2) We eliminate the missing household samples in some years to ensure a balanced panel dataset; (3) We delete observations with missing values of variables. Our final sample consists of 4511 households that can be tracked in the 5 periods.
