Invisible East Digital Corpus: JSON Dataset

The Invisible East Digital Corpus (IEDC) is an open-access collection of documents from medieval Afghanistan, and surrounding regions, dating between the 4th/10th and 7th/13th centuries CE. The corpus brings together texts preserved in New Persian, Middle Persian, Arabic, Bactrian, Sogdian, and other languages, presented in high-resolution images with expert transcriptions and translations. This dataset release contains the full corpus in JSON format, structured for computational use, data analysis, and digital preservation. It is intended for reuse in research across history, philology, digital humanities, and related fields. The latest export was created on 01/06/2026.
