Plant species identity influences soil microbial communities both by direct host specificity and through changing soil conditions. However, how pine forest communities affect microbial diversity and function in soil remain unclear. Here, we investigated woody plant, soil bacterial and fungal communities as well as physio-chemical properties in forests along a dominance gradient of Masson pine. The findings provide deeper insights into community-level linkages between forest plant composition and soil microorganisms.
