Global characteristics of gravity waves in the whole stratosphere and mesosphere revealed by one-year hindcasts using a GW-permitting GCM
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains processed output from one-year hindcast simulations for 2022 performed using the high-resolution gravity-wave-permitting general circulation model JAGUAR. The data support the study “Global characteristics of gravity waves in the whole stratosphere and mesosphere revealed by one-year hindcasts using a GW-permitting GCM” by Soichiro Yamamoto, Kaoru Sato, and Shingo Watanabe. The simulations were performed at T639L340 resolution, with 340 vertical layers extending from the surface to approximately 150 km. JAWARA and ERA5 reanalysis data were used for spectral nudging. The analyses were based on hourly mean output from the free-running portions of the simulation cycles. Gravity waves were defined as fluctuations with total horizontal wavenumbers of 21–639, corresponding to horizontal wavelengths of approximately 60–2,000 km.
