We are interested in the study of structure/function relationships of nickel enzymes, nickel proteins and nickel protein-based artificial metalloenzymes. Our objectives are the structural characterization of our artificial metalloenzymes as well as the trapping of reaction intermediates. We are alos interested in the biosynthesis of carbon monoxide dehydrogenase (CODH), a nickel enzyme with a complex multimetallic active site. We aim at the determination of the crystal structure of CODH and its nickel chaperones CooJ, CooT and CooC, involved in nickel insertion into CODH.
