Air quality measurements in Austria 2022 - Annual Report

The annual report documents the results of the air quality measurements of the federal states and the Federal Environment Agency for the year 2022. The measurement results show: For the pollutants NO2, CO and B(a)P, the lowest load to date was measured. The exposure to PM10, PM2.5 and SO2 was slightly above the level of recent years, but well below the level of recent decades. Ozone pollution was slightly below the level of recent decades. The IG-L limit values for nitrogen dioxide were exceeded at six measuring points and the sum of the limit value and the margin of tolerance was complied with. In the case of SO2 and dust precipitation (including lead), isolated exceedances of limit values were measured in accordance with IG-L. The target values for ozone have been exceeded in large parts of Austria.
