Compare the sequence and expression profiles of the voltage-gated sodium channel gene family in electric fish with neurogenic and myogenic electric organs. The goal was to find evidence of genomic, transcriptomic, and sequence changes in this gene family that may have caused the extreme electrophysiological attributes displayed by neurogenic electric fish.
