VPRS 16295 Interim Report and Final Report

This series consists of the two interim reports and final report of the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission [VA 4864] as issued and tabled in Parliament. There are physical and digital versions, except for Volume IV of the final report, which was transferred in physical format only. There are two physical copies of the first Interim report. The first Interim Report was released on 17 August 2009, six weeks after the end of the first hearing block.  The second Interim Report, Priorities for Building in Bushfire Prone Areas, was released on 24 November 2009. This report made seven recommendations dealing with the need for a national standard for bushfire bunkers and urgent changes to building standards for building in bushfire areas. The final report was delivered to the Governor of Victoria on the morning of 31 July 2010. The Governor then presented the report to the Premier who tabled it in the Victorian Parliament. The final report consisted of a summary and four volumes: Volume I - The Fires and the Fire-Related Deaths Volume II - Fire Preparation, Response and Recovery Volume III - Establishment and Operation of the Commission Volume IV - The Statements of Lay Witnesses
