This study focuses on the mechanism of leadership emotional intelligence on team innovation, aiming to reveal the intrinsic path of emotional intelligence-driven team innovation. Using the team-level paired survey method, a sample of 65 leader-391 team member pairs was collected to explore the mechanism of leadership emotional intelligence through multilevel data analysis. It was found that leadership emotional intelligence had a significant positive effect on team innovation (β=0.247, p<0.01), which was mediated through two parallel mediating paths of psychological security (indirect effect=0.183, 95%CI=[0.104, 0.282]) and knowledge sharing (indirect effect=0.03, 95%CI=[0.006, 0.058]) producing indirect effects. The results indicated that leadership emotional intelligence had a significant positive predictive effect on both knowledge sharing (β=0.244, p<0.01) and psychological security (β=0.487, p<0.01), with the mediating effect of psychological security being significantly stronger than that of knowledge sharing. The study reveals the complex mechanism of leadership emotional intelligence to promote team innovation, which provides a new theoretical perspective and practical path for organizational innovation management.
