The 2b-RAD sequencing data for a population genetic study of the deep-sea mussels

We carried out a population genetic study of the deep-sea mussel Bathymodiolus platifrons (Bivalvia, Mytilidae) combining both mitochondrial genes and genome-wide SNP markers generated via genome sequencing and the 2b-RAD approach. Specimens were collected from six representative populations along their known distribution range thus far in the Northwest Pacific. This study offered novel perspectives on the population connectivity of B. platifrons mussels, revealing the potential roles of ocean currents and geographic barriers in shaping their migration patterns and genetic differentiation in the Northwest Pacific.
