Hydrocarbon impacted and non-impacted shallow marine sediment samples, nanopore data

In prospect of the EU-funded project PROSPECTOMICS gravity core samples of hydrocarbon impacted and non-impacted sites were taken. All extracted DNA samples have been sequenced with Illumina short-read and Nanopore long reads. The aim of the project was to identify genetic markers usable to predict oil reservoirs in proximity to the taken samples. This should not only reduce drilling cost for companies but also the environmental impact of drilling events (up to several hundred meters in depth) by using gravity cores (0.5-3m depth).
