Species average abundance per tow per year (community matrices) for each bank

This file contains ten tabs, one for each of the ten banks of the Scotian Shelf (short form of names given in Figure 1 of the associated manuscript). Within each tab, species are divided into three trophic groups: large-bodied predators (pred), mesopredators (meso), and prey (prey). For each species (rows), its average abundance per tow on that bank is given for each year (columns) on that bank. These data can be used as input to the island R functions or other community ordination analyses. Here, I have highlighted colonization and local extinction events according to the PA_35 rules-based method outlined in the manuscript. In each year, I counted the number of colonizations (COL) and local extinctions (EXT), the resultant species richness (SR), cumulative colonizations to calculate colonization rate (CR), cumulative extinctions to calculate extinction rate (ER), and turnover (TOV: sum of COL + EXT divided by SR from present + previous year). At the bottom of each tab, community-level (pred + meso + prey) COL, EXT, SR, CR, ER and TOV are given for each year. See READ ME tab for more information.
