This is a large-scale ALS point cloud dataset designed to support pre-training and fine-tuning paradigms for ALS applications. The dataset was developed by the Artificial Intelligence Research Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST, Japan), and its data is sourced from the 3D Elevation Program ("3DEP") of the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It covers diverse land cover and terrain types across the contiguous United States. Constructed via geospatial sampling methods, the dataset integrates land cover maps and digital elevation models (DEMs) to ensure data diversity and efficiency. Its application fields include tasks such as tree species classification, terrain scene recognition and point cloud semantic segmentation, aiming to improve the application effects of ALS technology in domains like forest management and urban planning.
