"Gewestplan, raster" is a version in grid format of the soil destinations in Flanders according to the regional plans. The land uses refer to the general and additional (special) urban planning regulations as they were laid down for all Flemish regional plans. The Regional Plans were drawn up in implementation of the Spatial Planning and Urban Planning Act of 1962 and have not been amended in themselves since 2002 (exception is the inclusion of information on the cancellation of reservation lanes and line infrastructure to be built - Decree of the Flemish Government of 14/12/2018). However, they remain an important tool for spatial policy, because in most places in Flanders they are the only spatial planning plan in force. On the other hand, other spatial planning plans may apply in many places, drawn up by the Flemish Region, the provincial authorities or the municipal authorities. The regional plan therefore often does not reflect the entire legal plan context in one place. No rights can be derived from the maps based on this dataset. The information contained in the maps is purely informative and has no legally binding force. In order to be able to determine the legal planning context of a particular plot or area, you should contact the urban planning department of the relevant municipal authority. The digital regional plans were created on the basis of the original regional plan (amendment) that were drawn up with the topographic maps of the NGI as a base map and therefore on map scale 1/10,000. As a result, this digital version is only suitable for use at medium-scale level, in particular with a maximum use scale of 1/10,000. The combined consultation of this file of large-scale parcel maps is not cartographically correct and does not provide a definitive answer to the legal planning context of a parcel. This digital file has been compiled with the utmost care, based on the original, legally valid regional plans. Nevertheless, it is not excluded that certain information is outdated, incomplete or incorrect. The information shown cannot therefore be regarded as a ‘certified copy’ of the original regional plan (amendments). This dataset was created by raster conversion of the dataset in vector format of the regional plans, which in turn was created by vectorization of the maps of the 25 regional plans adopted in the period 1976 - 1980. These maps are made on a map scale of 1:10.000. All adjustments resulting from the later approved regional plan changes have been integrated into the dataset. In the event that Judgments of the Council of State were issued that led to the destruction of certain parts of the regional plans, then, in almost all cases, the regional plan was restored to its pre-annihilation state. The original paper regional plans were drawn on topographical base maps of the NGI on a scale of 1:10,000. To create the surprised digital regional plan, the vector version was projected on a digital topographical surface. However, this digital topographic underlay is based on a more recent series of topographic NGI base maps than those used when signing up the original regional plans on paper. The latter older basic maps do not exist as digital area-covering topographical pads, the NGI maps used in the grid version of the regional plan are the oldest digitally available. This concerns the digital black and white surprise of the analogue topographic maps of Flanders and Brussels, published between 1978 and 1993 on a scale of 1/10,000 by the NGI.
