VPRS 19780 Hazelwood Power Station Stage 1 Drawings Book

This series comprises a volume containing technical drawings of the Hazelwood Power Station Stage 1 ahead of its construction. The book was prepared in response to the release of tender for the construction of the power station. Babcock & Wilcox was the successful tenderer for the contract. All drawings are drawn to scale.  Parts of the power station depicted in the book include, but are not limited to the following: the station as completed, turbine hall, arrangement of boiler house and boiler plant; proposed arrangement of piping, feeders feeding mills, briquette conveyors, coal handling plant from crusher house to reversible conveyors, ash and dust handling plant; a layout of the entire power station area; and the typical arrangement of rack sootblowers, retractable sootblowers, reheater for radiant boiler, spaced wall construction, idlers, feeder ejector unit, ash pump and bracket detail. Prior to transfer to PROV the records were held by ENGIE Hazelwood, the majority owner of the power station at the time of its closure in 2017. Since privatisation, Hazelwood Power has gone through many iterations, eventually becoming ENGIE Hazelwood in 2015.
