We are interested in cellulase-producing microorganisms as potential biocontrol agents of oomycete diseases. While studying the genomes of several cellulase-producing microorganisms, we discovered that the previously isolated Cellulomonas sp. ICMP 17802 was a novel species. Here we report the draft genome sequence of Cellulomonas sp. nov. ICMP 17802.
