Fresh tumor biopsies were prospectively obtained from 50 patients diagnosed with clinical stage II-III TNBC defined as ER-, PR-, and HER2-negative. Briefly, frozen tissue samples were washed with cold phosphate-buffered saline, snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen, and pulverized using the cryoPREP Tissue Disruption system. Tissue powder aliquots were used for RNA extractions.
