Genome Assembly of the Manila Clam (Ruditapes philippinarum)

Ruditapes philippinarum (the Manila clam) is one of the most exploited commercial bivalves worldwide. We present a high-quality, chromosome-level genome assembly of this species. This assembly was generated using an integrated approach combining short-read and long-read sequencing technologies, resulting in a significant improvement over existing genomic resources. By providing a highly contiguous and accurate reference, this genome serves as a foundational tool for studying bivalve evolution, environmental adaptation, and the development of biotechnological applications such as the onset of genomic-assisted breeding programs
