Reproducibility Package for Interventions for Climate Anxiety and Eco-Distress: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Controlled Studies

This repository contains the reproducibility materials supporting the systematic review and meta-analysis entitled “Interventions for Climate Anxiety and Eco-Distress: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Controlled Studies.” The review identified 12 controlled intervention studies examining climate-related psychological distress, climate anxiety, eco-anxiety, or closely related psychological outcomes. Five studies contributed to the primary random-effects meta-analysis, three contributed only to sensitivity analyses, and four were retained in the narrative synthesis. The repository contains study-level quantitative data, effect-size inputs and derivations, R analysis scripts, sensitivity analyses, risk-of-bias assessments, GRADE materials, PRISMA documentation, tables, figures, and supporting methodological documentation required to reproduce the principal quantitative analyses. The primary meta-analysis used Hedges’ g under a random-effects model with restricted maximum-likelihood estimation and Hartung–Knapp inference. Negative effect sizes indicate lower climate-specific distress or anxiety in the intervention group. Bibliographic database searches covered Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, PsycINFO, and PubMed, with the final search completed on 31 August 2026. The materials are provided to support transparency, verification, secondary methodological examination, and reproducibility of the reported analyses. No copyrighted full-text articles are included in this repository.
