Rhizosphere degradation and microbial mechanism on soil phthalate (PAE) dissipation and accumulation variation among different crop cultivars remains unknown. Here, bacterial community and PAE degradation-related genes in root-associated niches were analyzed between low (Fengyousimiao) and high (Huahang) PAE-accumulating cultivars of rice (Oryza sativa L.) exposed to di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP).
