ASSESSMENT OF THE TECHNICAL CONDITION OF MODERN ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES OF JSC "UZBEKISTAN RAILWAYS"

This article discusses the transition of modern electric locomotives of JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" to frequency-controlled asynchronous traction drives, with a specific focus on the "O’Z-ELR" series. The advantages of asynchronous traction electric motors (ATEM) over traditional DC motors are analyzed, emphasizing the necessity of continuous informational monitoring and early defect detection. Furthermore, the architecture, hardware structure, and operational functions of the centralized Train Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) are thoroughly examined. Special attention is given to the diagnostic capabilities, fault logging, and multi-unit operation controls provided by the TCMS to ensure safe and reliable locomotive performance.
