Metagenomic analysis of the lung and gut using animal model of Schistosomiasis-associated Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

The overall goal of this project is to investigate the lung and gut microbiome profile using an animal model of Schistosomiasis-associated Pulmonary arterial hypertension (Sch-PAH) induced by intraperitoneal and intravenous stimulus with Schistosoma mansoni eggs. Currently, there is no cure for Sch-PAH, and metagenomic profiling can potentially lead to future novel therapeutic approaches.
