VPRS 12273 Accountants Note Book

This series consists of a journal which provides summary details of policy and administration decisions authorised by the Department of the Treasurer, as a result of inward correspondence requesting opinions on certain matters relating to public financial administration. The series was maintained as a record of these policy decisions. It covers policy subject matter relating to appointments, issue of licenses, travelling allowances, land tax, refunds for fines etc.The series provides a precis of the correspondence and the resulting policy decision, and provides the correspondence registration number for the correspondence file. These files are maintained in VPRS 1207 Inward Registered Correspondence, Annual Single Number System.An alphabetical subject index to this series occurs in VPRS 12276 Index to Accountants Notebook. This index indicates that this series consists of three volumes, labelled A, B, and C. This series consists of Volume B. Volumes A and C are not in the custody of PROV.Other summary details of policy decisions from 1870 to 1905 that are not contained in this series are maintained in VPRS 12277 Treasury Practice Book.
