Monthly Photosynthetically Available Radiation Reconstruction from Coral Carbon Isotopes for the Northern South China Sea during the Medieval Climate Anomaly and the Little Ice Age

This dataset accompanies “Coral δ13C Reveals Little Ice Age Dimming of Tropical Surface Shortwave Radiation Not Captured by Climate Models” and includes: (i) raw monthly coral carbon isotope (δ¹³C) series; (ii) reconstructed monthly photosynthetically available radiation time series (covering the Medieval Climate Anomaly and the Little Ice Age); and (iii) comparison outputs from climate models (Paleoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Project Phase 4/CMIP6, past1000 experiments—surface downwelling shortwave radiation converted to photosynthetically available radiation), together with metadata and processing notes.
