Vegetation composition and 29-year above-ground carbon stock dynamics under changing land use and forest governance in a tropical montane (agro) forest landscape, Kenya

This dataset supports the manuscript "Vegetation composition and 29-year above-ground carbon stock dynamics under changing land use and forest governance in a tropical montane (agro) forest landscape, Kenya." It comprises field plot data from 36 ground plots, per-class confusion matrices used for accuracy assessment (following Olofsson et al. 2014) and land use land cover classification and change-detection matrices for the Nyangores forest and adjoining agroforestry landscape (Mau Forest Complex, Kenya) across four reference years (1995, 2003, 2014, 2024), covering three governance regimes, command-and-control, transition, and participatory forest management.
