Particulate Organic Matter composition in and around macroalgal beds in Kongsfjorden, Arctic

This dataset provides the composition and distribution of Particulate Organic Matter (POM) within Kongsfjorden, Arctic, focusing on the influence of macroalgal beds across twelve distinct sampling stations. These stations were categorized based on their proximity to macroalgal-dominated sites (MDS), and locations at distances of 500 m and 1500 m away. It includes hydrological parameters including salinity, temperature, turbidity, chlorophyll a, and nutrients like nitrate, phosphate, and nitrite. The dataset also contain detailed information of Particulate Organic Carbon (POC), Particulate Nitrogen (PN), and stable isotopes (δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N), alongwith particultae carbohydrates (PCHO), proteins (PPRT), and lipids (PLIP). This dataset also include specific monosaccharide and amino acid compositions (in both µg L⁻¹ and mol%), and assessed the nutritional quality of the organic matter by calculating biopolymeric carbon (BPC) and the percentage of labile versus refractory material.
