Genome sequence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius ST71-SCCmec type III

Staphylococcus pseudintermedius is commonly associated with skin and soft tissue infections in dogs. However, infections caused by S. pseudintermedius are rarely reported in humans, and this pathogen is frequently misidentified as S. aureus. Here, we report the whole genome sequence of methicillin-resistant S. pseudintermedius (MRSP) ST71-SCCmec type III from an implanted port catheter system infectious patient with hepatocellular carcinoma.
