Testis mRNA expression profiling of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) age-at-maturity-associated genes during different maturation stages

Study revealed new information about molecular functions of the vgll3 gene associated with age-at-maturity in the testis of Atlantic salmon In the study presented here, expression patterns of a gene associated with age-at-maturity in Atlantic salmon, its paralogs and 340 additional genes were studied in whole hatchery-derived individuals of three maturation stages, immature-1 and immature-2, and mature, in the testis of two vgll3 genotypes (early and late maturation genotypes).
