MPII Human Shape is a human body model dataset that encompasses a series of 3D models and tools for human body contours and shapes, with its training models learned from the planar scanning database CAESAR. MPII Human Shape is a collection of 3D human shape models and tools developed for constructing, manipulating, and evaluating the human shape space based on statistical body representations learned from the Kaiser Dataset, which is the largest commercial scanning database to date. This dataset was released in 2017 by the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and was primarily published by Leonid Pishchulin, Stefanie Wuhrer, Thomas Helten, Christian Theobalt and Bernt Schiele in the associated paper "Building Statistical Shape Spaces for 3D Human Modeling".
