Here, the whole cultivation system was covered with sterile breathable film and acclimated to a 5-day temperature pulse cycle (25 °C for 2 days, 37 °C for 2 days and 25 °C for 1 day) in a controllable temperature incubator under a light intensity of 3000 lux with a 12 h light/12 h dark cycle. Cells reached a plateau after 5 days of growth at 25 °C (Fig. S1). At the end of the first increasing temperature cultivation, a small culture aliquot was inoculated into fresh medium to reinitiate growth for the second increasing temperature treatment. The initial cell density of each increasing temperature treatment was approximately 1 × 104 cells/mL.
