Full-length Aedes aegypti cDNA project at TIGR. Aedes aegypti

In September 2002, The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) was funded as part of an NIAID project to bring contemporary genomics into the study of the yellow fever mosquito, Aedes aegypti. The cDNA project's goal is to sequence both ends of 40,000 cDNAs derived from normalized libraries produced from 4 specific mRNA sources. The resulting 80,000 high quality cDNA sequence reads will be assembled and maintained as non-redundant sets in an A. aegypti Gene Index at TIGR.
