The dataset associated with this study contains all the raw and processed data supporting the findings reported in the manuscript “Role of metal ion promoters in carbon nanotubes functionalization by polydopamine in the perspective of electroplated copper–carbon composites.”, which has been accepted and will be published on RSC "Reaction Chemistry & Engineering"1. Research background and data generation:The data were generated within the framework of a study investigating the effect of Cu²⁺ and Ni²⁺ ions on the polydopamine (PDA) functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their subsequent incorporation into electroplated Cu–CNT composites. The dataset includes the chemical characterization of the modified CNTs..2. Data content and structure:_.txt – text files containing raw XPS spectra exported directly from the acquisition software. Columns correspond to binding energy (eV) and intensity (a.u.), suitable for reprocessing or comparison.CNT_oxidized.xlsx – spreadsheet compiling structural data extracted from TEM analyses (CNT diameter, number of walls, standard deviation, and derived specific surface area).oxidation.opju – OriginLab project file containing the Raman spectroscopy datasets for all CNT samples. The file includes the raw intensity vs. Raman shift (cm⁻¹) data, baseline correction procedures, and plotted spectra used in the manuscript figures.pristine200.opju – OriginLab project file containing thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) data. “Book1” includes temperature (°C), mass (%) and derivative mass loss (%/°C) data for each sample, along with graph representations.Seq_Spec_Compare.pdf – compiled TEM–EDX analysis report summarizing the elemental mapping and line-scan profiles of the Cu–CNT composites, including image references and quantitative atomic percentages.4.
