Impact of Fish Oil and Soluble Fiber on Gut Microbiota and Gene Expression in Older Adults

This study investigates the combined effects of fish oil and soluble dietary fiber supplementation on gut microbiota composition and host gene expression in healthy older adults. Using a randomized controlled crossover design, we examined the impact of these dietary interventions on microbial diversity, short-chain fatty acid production, and transcriptional pathways associated with colorectal cancer risk. The findings provide insights into dietary strategies for improving gut health and CRC prevention.
